Upgrade and optimize the technical infrastructure of the Data Center in Madrid to meet strict Tier IV certification standards, and ensure maximum redundancy, operational efficiency and a seamless experience for its customers.
Challenges and objectives
The client required a project with a comprehensive infrastructure upgrade to address key constraints:
- Insufficient power capacity to support critical customer operations.
- Air conditioning systems that did not meet the required levels of redundancy.
- Need for a secure and certified infrastructure to ensure operational continuity in a mission-critical environment.
Solution implemented
A comprehensive improvement plan was implemented in two phases, which included advanced solutions to cover every aspect of the Data Center infrastructure. Main actions carried out:
- Advanced energy infrastructure
Installation of 2250KVA 1+1 redundant UPS systems and a 2000KVA 1+1 redundant transformation center, ensuring maximum energy availability. - High-performance air conditioning
Implementation of redundant N+2 DX air conditioning systems and direct freecooling modules, optimizing energy consumption and ensuring efficient thermal control. - Guaranteed Tier IV certification
Sectorization of the technical room and adaptation of the systems to the demanding Tier IV standards. - Advanced security systems
Installation of automatic extinguishing systems using NOVEC 1230 agent and state-of-the-art control, security and CCTV complements.
The /fdata team led each stage of the project, configuring the technological systems and ensuring an accurate FIT out aligned with the client’s needs.
Objectives and benefits obtained by the client
- 15% reduction in energy costs, thanks to the efficiency of N+2 air conditioning systems.
- 30% increase in the operational capacity of the Data Center, allowing us to serve a greater number of clients.
- Tier IV certification obtained, positioning the Data Center as a benchmark in reliability and security.
- Guaranteed operational continuity, even in high-demand scenarios, through redundant and advanced systems.
